Anderson Brasa
Born in São Paulo, Anderson Brasa is a holistic psychotherapist who had his first experience with photography in 2008, in the city of Manaus. In 2019, in Cusco, Peru, he began photographing street portraits and, later that same year, back in São Paulo, he embraced street photography as his main style.
Currently based in Manaus, Anderson’s photographic practice is hybrid, as he circulates with his project through traditional riverside communities as well as the Port of Manaus, in the city’s central area.
In 2022, he held his first photographic exhibition in Manaus, entitled Beiradão em Brasa, featuring images of workers from the Port of Manaus. In 2024, he participated with one photograph in the French magazine Réponses Photo. In 2025, he had seven photographs published in the Brazilian magazine Imagem Vertigem and one photograph in Woofer Magazine.
In his artistic life, Anderson also writes chronicles and poetry, and is currently developing two ongoing photographic projects: Beiradão em Brasa – Photographic Cutouts and Amazonas: Land of Giants.
As a member of a social project, he conducts children’s storytelling sessions for children from traditional riverside communities in Manaus, an initiative that encourages literature among the peoples of the Amazon rainforest.
