Street Macadam B&W Awards

Edition#2

Street Macadam is presenting the 2nd edition of the “Street Macadam B&W Awards”, a street & documentary photography contest.

This competition will be organized from Saturday 1st of November to Sunday 11th of January 2026 -Midnight (UTC +1)

The results of the competition will be communicated on Sunday 25th of January 2025.

This is open to amateur and professional photographers from around the world who are at least 18 years old at the time of the registration.

The theme of this contest: «DAILY LIFE» 

This contest is dedicated to Street & Documentary Photography.

Photographs submitted may have been taken from: No time limit.

Wherever you are in the world, we invite you to send us your most beautiful Black & White photos.

Among all the photos submitted by entrants to the competition, our international jury will choose the 3 winning photos and 20 «special mentions».

Our international jury reserves the right to disqualify a participant from the competition if they do not comply with the rules and conditions of the contest.

Please read it before to register

  • To enter the photography competition, you will need to follow the link on the home page and carefully follow the instructions of registering, creating your account and paying the fees- which will only only be possible by following the instructions on the registration form.

    Registration and participation fees are:

    • 1 photo : 8,00 €

    • 2 photos : 14,00 €

    • 5 photos : 29,00 €

    • 6 to 10 photos : 35,00 € 

    • Registration fees will not be refundable regardless of the outcome of your photo(s) in this competition.

  • All photo submissions must be made online.

    Photos must be sent in JPEG/JPG forme and the file size must not exceed 2MB. The long side of the photo must have a maximum size of 2000 pixels.

    The files must be renamed with Last Name, First Name and progressive number (if several photos are sent)

    Any photos not following this renaming will be automatically disqualified.

  • Each participant retains the copyright of the photos they send.

    By participating in the competition the author declares that the photos sent are his property.

    Registration and completion of the form by the participant authorizes the competition organizers to use the images submitted for promotional purposes related to the photography competition, including publication on the competition website, on social networks and in videos.

    • Post production is permitted in order to optimize the image. We allow modifications related to brightness, contrast, texture, color temperature and tone in the case of a conversion to B&W.

    • Removal of particles or dust on the captor is also permitted.

    • Photographs must be realistic and not excessively modified, under penalty of exclusion from the competition.

    • It is permitted to crop photographs, but not to add or remove objects or people.

    • The use of generative AI through any type of software to modify the content of the photograph or any part thereof is not permitted. 

    • Photos taken by drones are not accepted.

    • Photograph must not contain any signatures or watermarks.

    • Photographs cannot have any type of frame.

    • Photographs with sexually explicit, abusive or defamatory content will not be accepted.

    • Photographs submitted may have been taken from:no time limit.

    • We will ask the 3 winners to send us the file (raw- or original jpeg file) as proof that the photo has not been altered by the addition of an element or massive post-production..

  • The images will be judged anonymously by our jury. 

    They will not know the names or any details of the participants. On the basis of this judgment, the finalists will be chosen.

    For all those who participate before January 1st, you will have a chance to have your photos chosen in our "Editor's Pick"

    Our 12 judges will choose 5 photos from all the photos received.

    These photos will then be shared on our Instagram page under the tag «  Editor’s Pick ». 

    These photos will be in final.

    All photos up to the closing day of the competition will also be submitted to our jury for voting. Some of these photos will be included in the final phase.

    This international jury will then designate the 3 winners and the 20 special mentions.

  • The finalists' images will be published on the competition website and included in a photography exhibition in Mexico city.

    At the sole discretion of the internal jury and the organizers, some non-finalist photographs may also be published on the event website.

  • By completing the registration form, all participants accept the provisions of French législative decree of June 20, 2018 relating to the protection of personal dat and the European General Regulation (GDPR) ont the protection of personal data.

    Participants authorize the competition organizer to use their data for the competition or for legal and associative reasons.

    Personal data will be used by the organizer to communicate the result of the competition and for future competitions.

  • Sandra Hernández (Vita Flumen)

    Sandra Hernández (Vita Flumen)

    Mexico city - Mexico

    Sandra Hernández (Vita Flumen) is a photographer and a Fujifilm ambassador based in Mexico.

    Her photography focuses on urban life, such as human’s relationship to the environment and the narratives that arise between them. Sandra’s work, both photographs and text, has been published and featured locally and internationally in outlets such as L’Oeil de la Photographie, Forbes, La Vanguardia, EyeShot and Revue Épic. She’s also participated in more than 50 solo and group exhibitions on four continents and has received awards and honorable mentions in global photography competitions. She’s the founder of Observadores Urbanos, a platform whose mission is to promote and spread Latin American street photography. Last year she was selected for the class of 2023 of The Eddie Adams Workshop.

  • Jason Florio

    Jason Florio

    London -UK

    Is an award-winning photojournalist, filmmaker and educator, originally from London.

    He based in NYC for 18 years before relocating to The Gambia, West Africa, in 2013. He has produced images and documentaries for clients including The New York Times, Smithsonian, The New Yorker, National Geographic and Amnesty International. His work has been recognized with a number of awards, including The Magnum Photography Award for his work on migration. His work is held in public and private collections and has been presented in solo exhibitions in the USA, Europe, Asia and Africa. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Geographical Society for his photograph focused expeditions. 

  • Misha Maslennikov

    Misha Maslennikov

    Misha Maslennikov is head and member of the Noga Creative Union “ NCU”

    Since 2013 constantly lives in the city of Odessa, Ukraine.

    During the 80’s, he studied at Art School #75, got the qualification of architectural designer-constructor.

    Misha studied at theological department of Saint Tikhon’s Orthodox University between 2002 to 2005.

    For 7 years, he worked in reproduction center of the State Publishing House the Press (previous name Pravda) as a retoucher and an operator of electronic color splitting and color correcting machine.

Mexico Street Photo Festival (MXSPF) 

México Street Photo Fest (MXSPF) was founded in 2023 as the first international street photography festival in Mexico, based in Querétaro, Mexico.

After three editions it’s the most important festival in Latin America dedicated to Street photography.

The nature of this festival is to foster and share the passion for street photography, fostering spaces for collaboration between photographers, collectives, and projects within the genre, giving visibility to both established and emerging talents.
